The labels are vinyl and come with a chalk marker. I've only tried using these on glass bottles so far. They stick and seal around the edges very well, but they are also easy to peel off and reuse. Once the chalk marker dries, you can wash it off with water so the label is reusable. They look amazing! These are one of the best chalk labels i have had. I received this item in an exchange for a unbiased review .
